The community of Franciscan sisters from the Sinless is an authentic Croatian nun's community officially founded in 1673 in Šibenik. The founder of the community was the servant of God mother Klara (Mara) Žižić. She was born in 1626. below Plomina (a village in Dalmatian Zagora), and died in Šibenik earning sanctity on September 21st 1706. Her earthly remains, together with the ones belonging to the first sisters, were stored in a tomb in the Lovro's Franciscan church in Šibenik. On September 21st, 2004, the anniversary of her death, the process of her beatification was formally started.
On the Community's 300th anniversary on July 4th 1973 the Holy Chair gave it the status of the order of communities of papal right. Today, sisters are active in Šibenik diocese, Zagreb and Split archdiocese, Germany and Italy. They are active in various fields: the upbringing of preschool children, nursing the old and sick, catechization and religious teaching, high education, working in scientific institutions, leading liturgical singing and housekeeping in parishes, and gathering the youth.
