The Servant of God, Mother Clara Žižić (1626-Oct. 21, 1706) is the founder of a convent of tertiary sisters of St. Francis, an authentic Croatian community, today known as the Community of Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, or the Franciscan Sisters of Šibenik.

The time during which she lived was burdened with Turkish invasion and devastation, and with much material, moral and spiritual decadence. At the hospice which she founded in Varoš of Šibenik, she received and served the poor people who werw fleeing from the territories occupied by the Turks. Many of them were infected with plague and leprosy. In her total consecration to Christ and the Church, constantly nourished with the Sacraments of the Church and deeply devoted to the Blessed Mother of God, Mother Clara Žižić was a model of  service. As such was a light to all who met and knew her.

By faithfully observing the Commandments of God, the teachingc of the Church and the Rule of her Order, above all through works of charity, Mother Clara lived a holy life. She died a saintly death and was buried in the Church of St. Lawrence in Šibenik. Among the people of Šibenik and especially in the founded, even to this day she is venerated as a saint.

Almighty God, our heavenly Father, our sister and mother Clara was inspired and guided by the Holy Spirit and served you with faithfulness and good deeds. We pray to you: through your mercy, show to us and to the whole Church that Mother Clara, through her devoted service to the Kingdom of God, sought above all to serve you, graciously grew in faith, hope and love, and now lives in blessed unity with you, our Triune God: The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
